“She’s still a part of this team, still part of Patriot Oaks football, still part of Patriot Oaks cheerleading and we want to make sure she’s represented in the right way and we’re honoring her,” Hiemer said.

The 13-year was old was killed on Mother’s Day and her accused killer Aiden Fucci remains in jail awaiting trial.

Tristyn was a cheerleader for Patriot Oaks Academy and this homecoming was not the same without her. Wednesday’s game brought aqua blue/teal jerseys, balloons, a crowd of people and endless love for the Bailey family.

The cheerleaders chanted, “Tristyn Bailey strong,” and released balloons into the air.

“It’s bigger than the game, it always has been,” player Jaxon Earle said.

Coach Hiemer said while it has been a difficult time for the team, they will always have the Baileys’ backs.

“It shows the resilience of this group, how much they want to continue to fight and represent Tristyn’s family and the rest of their school and community,” Hiemer said.
