Bank sues former pastor for $716,123.14

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The former pastor of Celebration Church in Jacksonville is not commenting on a new lawsuit he is facing.

First-Citizens Bank says pastor Charles Stovall Weems, his wife and the companies they control have defaulted on several loans.

The bank says Weems owes it $716,123.14. Read the full lawsuit below:

In April, an investigation was released on Weems, the founding pastor of the church.

The 22-page report accused Weems of using church money for his personal benefit, as well as creating a culture of fear and intimidation.

Weems stepped down before the report was made public.
