A recently released report from AirHelp, a travel claims management agency, listed the best and worst airports to fly out of as of May 2024.
According to the report, out of the top ten worst airports to fly out of in the U.S., three are in Florida: Orlando International Airport, Miami International Airport, and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.
On the brighter side, Jacksonville International Airport ranked among the lowest for tarmac delays compared to other similarly sized airports.
Online complaints about travel delays have been increasing steadily over the last five years, with a total of 83,000 tarmac delays in the U.S. in 2019. Tarmac delays—when passengers are stuck on a plane waiting for takeoff or to deplane after landing—approximately doubled from 2020 to 2021, according to the report.
Remember, when it comes to flying, don’t forget to pack your patience.
