🎭 Ten Signs Someone Might Be Lying to You 😬🤥

Most of us like to think we can spot a liar from a mile away 👀… but according to body language expert Judi James, it’s not always that easy. Some of the classic “tells” of lying can also happen when someone’s just nervous about being believed. 😬

Here are 🔟 signs someone might be lying to you:

1️⃣ Eye direction 👁️ — Looking to the right may mean they’re making something up… looking left means they’re trying to recall a real memory.

2️⃣ Long pauses ⏸️ — Liars often stall or repeat your question to buy time before answering.

3️⃣ Voice changes 🎤 — A higher pitch or breathless tone can happen because of stress.

4️⃣ Fidgeting 🫨 — Can’t sit still? Could be nerves… or maybe a fib!

5️⃣ The poker face 🫶 — Some people go completely still when lying to avoid giving anything away.

6️⃣ Eye-dancing 👀💃 — Shifty eyes all over the room = possible panic.

7️⃣ Overcompensation 💪 — Acting extra confident to sell the story harder.

8️⃣ Barrier rituals 🚧 — Crossed arms or subtle head shakes might show defensiveness.

9️⃣ Forced smile 😐 — A fake smile that doesn’t reach the eyes can be a dead giveaway.

🔟 Too many filler words 🗣️ — “Umm… you know… basically…” = maybe they’re buying time to think.

Of course, none of these signs guarantee someone’s lying — they just might be stressed or shy. 😅 But if you’re seeing several of these together… maybe it’s time to trust your gut. 🤔
