Parents, school is back—and so is the daily challenge of figuring out what everybody is going to eat.
A new report says parents spend a whopping 432 hours every school year planning, shopping for, packing and cooking meals.
That works out to about 12 hours a week:
Three hours planning meals, three hours grocery shopping, two hours packing school lunches and four hours cooking.
And that doesn’t include the time spent asking, “What do you want for dinner?” and getting the classic answer: “I don’t know.”
When it comes to school lunches, the biggest challenges are finding foods kids will actually eat, keeping lunches interesting, and avoiding food waste.
Because apparently, the lunch you packed with love at 6:30 this morning becomes completely disgusting by 11:47.
