AI is officially making its way into the skincare routine. A new survey of 1,238 U.S. women found 32% are already using AI for skincare or body-care advice, while another large group says they’re interested in trying it. The most popular use is pretty practical: 50% say they’d trust AI for product recommendations, while 34% would use it to build a personalized routine or help identify visible skin concerns from a photo. For anyone who has ever stood in a beauty aisle staring at 40 nearly identical serums, having something narrow the options down probably sounds pretty appealing.
The survey also suggests part of AI’s appeal is simply cutting through how complicated beauty routines have become. 36% of women say routines with too many steps are hard to maintain, while 45% say cost makes it difficult to stick with body-care habits. Another 32% admit they’ve abandoned a routine because they weren’t seeing results. AI may not replace a dermatologist, but it could become the new starting point for women who want help figuring out what they actually need before buying another product that ends up forgotten in the bathroom cabinet.
