Much-needed rain returns for some but not most neighborhoods - HOT weekend ahead

We’ll have a sixth consecutive day below the average temperature (85) but hotter changes are coming

Jacksonville, Fl — We’ll have a sixth consecutive day below the average temperature (85) but hotter changes are coming. And Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says much-needed rain is coming for some neighborhoods. But it won’t be widespread.

“This is not a soaker for the entire area but there will be a few neighborhoods that manage a pretty decent rainfall today that will come down heavily for a brief time, maybe even a few rumbles of thunder. Those few neighborhoods that manage that kind of activity could see as much as a half inch or two-thirds of an inch of rain today”, said Buresh.

Temperatures this afternoon will be in the low 80s. Saturday is looking warmer and more humid under a partly sunny sky. We could see an isolated afternoon storm but again, coverage will not be all that great.

Sunday looks even hotter and humid with temperatures back near 90 degrees. Again, isolated storms are possible but not likely to be consequential for the entire area.

The pattern appears hot and humid early into next week. Isolated afternoon storms will also be possible for some neighborhoods.
