Nicole Denise Jackson was found on Friday, WBRC reported.

“Nicole has been located,” her family said. “She’s safe and in good health. She has been verified by the state department in person.”

Her family has not yet spoken with her but is grateful that she was found safe.

Last month the family asked for help in finding Jackson, who had left the country in 2018 and moved to Munich, Germany, to pursue her interest in music and to be with a man she had met online, WBRC reported.

Her sister Ela Vaughn had not talked to Jackson since 2018. Around that time Jackson stopped updating some of her social media pages and deleted other ones. Her parents had heard from Jackson intermittently but had not gotten a message from her in about a year.

Jackson contacted officials after a private investigator the family hired tracked her down through the man she went to meet, WBRC reported.

“We were praying for her safety and it turned out in our favor,” Vaughn said.
